The Honda Odyssey has received the "2012 Residual Value Award for Best Multi-Purpose Vehicle" from ALG. This is the second consecutive year that the versatile and reliable Odyssey has won this prestigious award. Residual value, or the value a car is predicted to retain over time, should be top-of-mind for any car shopper.
The 2012 Honda Odyssey was named Best Resale Value for a Van by Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com. Depreciation (or loss of value) is typically a car buyer's primary expense during ownership. Taking resale value into account can help drivers save money in the long run. Kelley Blue Book® Residual Values are projected based on market conditions for each vehicle, competition within vehicle segments, expectations of the future economy and combined experience of Kelley Blue Book's residual analysts.

Vehicle's projected resale value is specific to the 2012 model year. For more information, visit Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com. Kelley Blue Book is a registered trademark of Kelley Blue Book Co., Inc.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) toughened up its crash-safety tests for 2011, and the Odyssey passed with flying colors. In fact, the Odyssey earned 5 stars in each seating position of all three crash-safety tests, as well as earning a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score[1].

The auto experts at Edmunds.com certainly were impressed by the 2011 Odyssey. They named it a 2011 Top RecommendedSM vehicle, saying, the 2011 Honda Odyssey has a "luxuriously quiet and smooth ride, as well as all-around comfort and versatility." In Edmunds.com's review of the 2011 Odyssey, they noted "[it] is a top pick for a minivan, thanks to its highly versatile interior, long list of features and responsive handling." In addition, the editors at Edmunds.com also loved the Odyssey's quiet cabin and fuel-efficient V-6 engine[1].

When picking their "Top 10 Family Cars" for 2011[1], the editors of Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com considered what features a family needs most, like safety, comfort, economy of operation, child-friendliness, a reasonable purchase price and good resale value. And the 2011 Odyssey again impressed the kbb.com experts: "As the gold standard of minivans, the Honda Odyssey easily makes our list of family haulers. Designed to please the whole family, including the driver, the 2011 Honda Odyssey offers surprisingly responsive handling while maintaining a comfortable highway ride."

Future resale and trade-in values are important factors for new minivan shoppers to consider. So consider this: Edmunds.com recently gave their first-ever Best Retained Value Award Vans category to the 2011 Honda Odyssey.
Cars.com has named the 2011 Odyssey this year's "Family Car of the Year." The editors evaluated every aspect of what families need and want in a vehicle and concluded that "Honda took a gamble this year to jump-start the evolution of the minivan, and it's paying off. The Odyssey received a complete makeover—minivan style—resulting in a sleeker, sportier, more modern minivan while raising the bar on flexibility and functionality."

The Odyssey has captured yet another safety rating, this time with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) naming it a TOP SAFETY PICK for 2011. According to the IIHS, to earn this recognition, a vehicle must achieve the top rating of 'Good' in front, side, rollover, and rear tests and include a version of electronic stability control. Not only did the Odyssey achieve a 'Good' rating for all tests, but its vast list of standard safety features also includes Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®)[1], making it eligible for the TOP SAFETY PICK.

[1] VSA is not a substitute for safe driving. It cannot correct the vehicle's course in every situation or compensate for reckless driving. Control of the vehicle always remains with the driver.
By a wide margin, the 2011 Odyssey won the About.com Readers' Choice Award for Best Minivan. About.com editors concurred, stating, "With some new technology onboard and plenty of new family-friendly features, the Odyssey promises to be a leader into the future."
Calling it the "closest thing to an eight-passenger sport sedan," the 2011 Honda Odyssey is a winner of an Edmunds' Inside Line Editors' Most WantedSM award for 2011. The editors at Edmunds concluded the Odyssey's road manners "will win the heart of any car guy-turned-family man."

Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com has named the 2011 Honda Odyssey the "Best Redesigned Vehicle for 2011"[1]. The kbb.com editors praised the Odyssey engineers and designers for successfully tackling the difficult task of improving an already very successful, hot-selling model that is widely regarded as the pinnacle of its class. "The 2011 Honda Odyssey improves on its predecessor in every way imaginable, offering a better-looking, more contemporary exterior design, a sumptuous interior stuffed with innovative features, and class-leading fuel economy," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com. "Its safety, refinement, resale value and trouble-free nature are combined with a surprising level of fun-to-drive, so it is not difficult to see why Honda refers to the 2011 Odyssey as the 'ultimate in family transportation.' Honda has a history of environmental leadership dating back to a time when green was simply a color. Several decades later, we are proud to carry on that tradition, and be recognized as the country's Greenest Automaker by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS)—for the fifth time in a row[1].
